Paparazzi ; the new epidemic

Rant detected, engaging evasive maneuvering.....KABOOM!

Okay okay, i know i'll never reach the point where this becomes a personal problem but you can't help but feel a little sad at the thought of it.

Paparazzies, jeez louise on a pogo stick did they get even more annoying in the past few years? They've grown more bold and daring and won't hesitate to crowd up in front of cars containing the latest celebrity du-jour; blinding them with the flashes of their camera.

It's not only an insane situation, it's also goddamned dangerous. If you get blinded by camera flashes, chances are you're not gonna know where you're actually heading am i right ladies and gents? Not only that, they're even taking helicopter shots of people from really high up so not only can't they hide from the buzzards in cars, they can't seem to get a break inside their own property.

Am i the only one thinking this? Wow....and people are also eating it up and loving every minute of it. So i guess we, the public, are to blame a bit as well because secretly we enjoy seeing those sordid little things from our action heroes and drama queens. But still....some less stable celebrities are being driven to the brink of insanity by this circus. Ye ol' Britney Spears for an example wasn't already the most stable leg of the Hollywood table but i don't think all that harassment helped her one bit. With everything that's happening now, who knows which celeb will crack and go coocoo for cocoa puffs next. Place your bets!

Argh, okay i think i'm calming down....or at least turning a lighter shade of turquoise ^_^

Let's hope this phenomena doesn't give people in SL any ideas 0_0

On the weather and other stuff

Well, another few months, another thought about not updating this blog, at this rate i'll go nuts before i ever get anywhere, be it in SL or RL.

Okay okay, happy thoughts, oh i got it! Turned 23 last week! Huzzah! One more year towards ye ol' scary 30s but....wait thats not as happy of a thought as i thought, yeesh...

Alright, how about the weather? Hmm, no thats bad too, goddamn! did montreal leave to go to the bathroom while they were drawing the weather loto?

Snow, rain, snow, rain, ice rain, hail, sleet, a ton of snow again and now just last week we were over 0 Celcius and everything was a slushy mess, yuck!

This must be why i'm feeling a bit under the weather (hardee har har) these past few days....i guess i've been working too much too, okay at least its not my old job at the gas station...i can actually work sitting down now, but, its no excuse to work non stop after school either.

All this yapping made me think, i should probably cut my work hours a bit so i can actually see the best years of my life pass by. I owe it to myself, and my boyfriend too by the way who has been more than supportive in all this, if he's reading this...I LUV YOO VERY VERY MUCH! DON'T EVER CHANGE BABY!!!:D

Where was i going with this? Uhh....i forget this is a second life blog after all. I have been spending the few moments i could log in running around the mainland (which seems more like a wasteland of neon colors than it used to be but maybe i'm just getting bitter) and looking at all my favorite shopping spots to see if they have anything new

speaking of which, i may have found something positive to focus on. If i'm away from SL for a bit of time, it means there's a ton of stuff i haven't seen at all my favorite locations! Now that's what i call a smile factory! ^_^

So i take my leave....to go shopping! ah AH! UP UP AND AWAY!

Face Melt - Busy Schedule

Ohhh boy, I'm very bad at this blogging thing arent i? I've been in a constant flux of work/school related tasks and i guess i didin't get to do much yet in SL these past few months but i guess that's par for the course with the life of a modern student! All work and no play make Alessa a dull girl but its a necessary evil if i want to get a cool job and start paying my student loans back.

Anyway, for those of you still reading this, i hope this has been at least a little helpful! ^_^

P.S: My boyfriend and i celebrated our 3 year anniversary together, yipee!! :D i'm outliving every single one of my girlfriend's relationship so far heehee, lets hope this keeps up!

Yikes! Lack'o'updates!

Wow, guess i haven't updated this in a while! Jeez, A lot happened since my last update that's for sure! Where to start....oh yeah, i finally managed to find a better job ^_^

It's a cushy data entry job at the head office of a major car rental company. A friend at school managed to put a good word in for me so yay! It pays more and i get to sit down all day at a computer, isn't it neat?!

I've only been there for less than a week but i hope i don't get fired! Because this is a great opportunity for me to make some money and not get home dead tired and pissed at the world. That wasn't fair to my boyfriend having to endure me in that time.

Anyway! I've been trying to squeeze some quality SL time in the early morning and late night but it's been tough as heck! It may not be much but at least i get to play sometimes instead of not at all. I miss my SL friends so much! They're always offline when i'm on D:

I'll try and catch them on the week-end if i can.

well that's about it for RL news, SL wise, i spend most of my time window shopping and buying a few articles here and there because i'm so broke! ^_^ but, i managed to mix'n'match some cute gear these past weeks, it's pretty darn awesome!

Job Rants and shopping madness

For those of you that don't know, i work as a gas station cashier for Canada's version of exxon. Its a thankless job but it pays my bills. Recently though, I've been having my doubts about the job. I was hanging out with my friend Marie yesterday and we got to talking about our jobs. She told me that i'm underpaid for that kind of work and i should look for something else.

Bleahh, finding a job is hard so why throw this one away? Well, maybe if i could find something better that didin't entail standing up for 8 hours a day taking abuse from customers and getting hit on by creepy old men 0_0

She told me she could try to get me a job in the office where she works, now wouldn't that be just peachy keen! Seriously, an actual office! with chairs and computers and stuff...oh yeah and a watercooler! oooohhh!

I'll keep you update on that of course but, now on to my Second Life news...

Went shopping today! Won some money in slingo and wanted to update my wardrobe (read: buy a ton of outfit even though i already got a bazillion of them but thats how i roll ^_^) So i went shopping at a few places, Torrid Midnight's store is pretty awesome indeed and i couldn't believe how much she was asking for her stuff. Whats that cute cargo pants and cute tank top, you only cost 20 L$? into my inventory you go!

I also bought some hair at Gurl 6, don't be put off by the gigantic hair selection and just dig in, there's something for everyone! the hair in my pic on the left comes from there. The purple they have, after some minor tweaking, is just the right color for me so its all good.

Hmm...am i forgetting something, oh yeah, bought some outfits at Last Call. they were holding a inventory clearout sales to make room for new stuff so until Wednesday next week you'll be able to buy her stuff at low prices (100L$ for an outfit, thats a steal ^_^). That's what i did, bought 3 cool outfits including a really neato skirt with belts and pouches, really yummy :D.

Well that's about it, gotta go do the dishes and a wash before heading to work....bleagh, hope Marie comes through ^_^

Busy bee!

Hey all!! Sorry to not have been in game recently, we're shortstaffed at work so i've been doing some overtime until he finds people. Could be short, could be long, you never know with these things ^_^

Anyway, i'm still doing good as ever, college is over for the summer HUZZAH! So once this overtime conundrum is dealt with, you know what this means? YES! More SL! Bwahahahaha! okay i'm losing it, whew get ahold of yourself...okay okay i'm here

What was i saying? oh yeah, busy busy! Which reminds me, i got to get going, me and my boyfriend are going to see the new pirates of the carabeen (is that how its spelled 0_0) movie...yum Jack Sparrow...whoops did i say that out loud? Hmm...hope my Boyfriend doesn't read this! ^_^

Anyway, for those of you just tuning in, my name is Alessa Careless and this will be where i rant and rave about my explorations in the cool virtual reality called Second Life. For those of you who don't know what that is, its like a they took a chatroom and made it 3D, added the ability for everyone to build or make almost anything they desired and sell it for virtual money that can be turned into real money or vice versa and you have Second life in a nutshell

oh god that was so rambly for a first post, i'm sorry! ^_^
